DeeBeeUs™: Thanks BSVG, guitarlust, and gear-addiction-syndrome too...

Sounds like a weird thing to say doesn’t it??

But what I mean is thanks to my 3 Tumblr friends Bay State Vintage Guitars and guitarlust and gear-addiction-syndrome for learnin’ me something new today!

I was wondering what the fingerboard on the new Gibson Les Paul Custom Classics was…

Yup, after the whole Gibson rosewood fiasco, they started using baked maple in a lot of their guitars. The new LP Juniors they’re putting out feature them, as well as several other models like the new Custom Classic. Musicman does the same thing on a lot of their necks now, but they call it roasted maple. Same process though.

And sometimes I pull the ‘66 down off the wall!  Here are some shots of my 1966 Fender Jaguar.  It is sunburst and 100% original…it even still has the “mute” (although the mute is worn down too much and so it doesn’t really work anymore!)
